Some of my Work
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals at some of their most vulnerable and resilient moments. My experience spans frontline care, program development, leadership, and community organizing:
Program Manager
As Program Manager for the Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) Housing Program at Community Action Marin, I built and managed a supportive housing program for young adults (ages 18–25) experiencing homelessness. I oversaw a team of six, managed three public contracts, and established collaborative relationships with housing authorities, mental health providers, probation, and other county partners.
Youth Program Manager
At Canal Alliance, I led the Opportunities for Youth Program serving unaccompanied immigrant youth ages 14–21. I built out and oversaw the program. I providing intensive case management, lead support groups, oversaw a soccer team, provided non legal immigration support to youth and their sponsors, provided family navigation services, and built strong partnerships with schools and local service providers.
Community Health
Outreach Worker
As a Community Health Outreach Worker with the San Francisco Unified School District’s Wellness Initiative, I supported the daily wellbeing of over 170 students, ranging from all different needs and backgrounds. I co-led student support groups, coordinated crisis intervention, developed health education programming, created health fairs, and worked closely with therapists, social workers, case managers, health providers, teachers, to best support our youth and their families.
Board Member + Financial Literacy Program Instructor
My work inside San Quentin State Prison shaped my belief in healing, accountability, and second chances. I served as a board member and instructor for the Financial Literacy Program, teaching incarcerated men skills in money management, job readiness, and emotional awareness around finances. I also worked with Kid C.A.T. (Creating Awareness Together), a group of juvenile lifers focused on rehabilitation and community service, supporting fundraising efforts, hygiene drives, and educational programming for both inmates and homeless youth in the Bay Area.
Miscellaneous
Earlier in my journey, I worked as a special education aide, a childcare teacher in low-income communities, and a grassroots educator in India, Chile, and the Dominican Republic—always centering youth empowerment, cultural respect, and social justice.

I experienced a lot of anxiety and depression in high school. Valentina checked in with me daily and helped me feel empowered.
